Séraphine is a multidisciplinary artist, photographer, and filmmaker whose work blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination, questioning the narratives that shape us. Blending documentary and fiction through a surrealist lens, they explore the intersections of identity, belief systems, visual culture, and personal memory.

Born in the United States and raised in the countryside, Séraphine moved with their family to Gruyères, Switzerland, at the age of thirteen—a transition that marked the beginning of their photographic journey. Photography became a way to make sense of a new environment and to connect with others, transforming curiosity and displacement into creative exploration.

They studied Interactive Media Design at eikon in Fribourg before completing a Bachelor’s in Photography at ECAL in 2024. Their lived experience and cultural duality inspire stories where the personal becomes collective, inviting audiences to reconsider their connections to the world. Committed to challenging societal norms while celebrating the imaginative, the invisible, and the elusive, they create narratives where raw beauty and fantasy intertwine.
